Privacy

What we store

  • From your sign-in provider (Google, Microsoft or Facebook): your name, email address and profile photo, and an ID that provider assigns you. We never see those passwords.
  • If you sign up with email: your email and a one-way scrambled form (hash) of your password. The password itself is never stored.
  • What you add: appliances and vehicles, their details (brand, model, serial number, VIN, specs, notes), and your troubleshooting history.
  • A daily count of AI scans and diagnoses, used to enforce usage limits, and a log of actions you take in the app (sign-ins, scans, items added, diagnoses).

What we don't store

Photos you scan are sent for reading and then discarded; they are not saved. We don't sell data or show ads.

Who else sees it

  • Other users never see your account or inventory.
  • The app's operator can see account details, what you've added, and a log of activity (sign-ins, scans, diagnoses) to support you and improve the app.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) receives scan photos and item details to read plaques and suggest repairs.
  • NHTSA (U.S. Department of Transportation) receives a VIN when you decode one.
  • Google, Microsoft or Facebook handle sign-in.
  • Links to parts stores, YouTube and Google Maps open those sites with a search; we don't share your account with them.

Deleting your data

Sign in, open Account, and tap Delete my account. Your account, every item, and all diagnosis history are permanently deleted immediately. You can also remove a single sign-in method from the same page.
